Welcome to Seven of Spades Studio.
This is the first real post on the site, so I figured I should start by explaining what this place is supposed to be.
I started learning how to draw and paint in July 2026. Before that, I had basically no real art experience beyond stick figures.
Instead of waiting until I felt like a “good enough” artist to share anything, I decided to do the opposite.
I made this site so I could document the process from absolute zero.
That means you’re probably going to see rough drawings, failed experiments, perspective mistakes, strange anatomy, character designs that change five times, paintings that don’t quite work, and plenty of sketches that probably should have stayed hidden in a notebook.
You’ll also hopefully get to see all of that slowly improve.
The main comic project I’m working toward is Dr. Zeke, an emergency-room slice-of-life story about medical cases, long shifts, coworkers, awkward moments, and the chaos that comes with working in a hospital.
Alongside the comic, I’ll be posting sketches, concept art, perspective studies, paintings, character designs, and whatever else I’m working on as I learn.
I have no idea what this site will look like a year from now.
That’s part of the fun.
For now, this is the starting line.
